Welcome to the Macon County School System!  We are delighted that you have chosen to visit the website of Macon County Schools.  As you explore the contents of our website, I hope you discover valuable information regarding our school district.  Macon County’s twelve schools provide quality education programs and appropriate enrichment through extended school activities to a population of nearly 4,400 preschool - 12th grade children.

Our school system, including many individual teachers and programs, has been recognized often and recently for excellence at the local and state levels. Long before the Federal mandate of "No Child Left Behind," our school system acknowledged the importance of addressing the needs of every child.  Our mission is, "…to challenge all students to achieve their academic potential and be successful in the 21st Century.  We will achieve this mission in a safe and caring environment in partnership with parents, staff, and the community."  When you enroll your child in our system, our mission statement becomes our pledge to you.  Again, thank you for taking time to visit.
