TECHNOLOGY STAFF DEVELOPMENT

MCS Technology Training Center:

The Macon County Schools Technology Training Center is located in the former Union Elementary School. Take 441S toward Dillard. Approximately 3 miles south of Franklin at the Addington Bridge red light take a right. Go .3 and turn right onto Union School Road. Turn in the second drive "the back drive" and it is on the left as you enter. Most of the training sessions will be held at this location. Maximum enrollment is 24.

Availability:

In an effort to make technology continuing education more accessible to school personnel, we are continuing after hours course offerings. This year two Tuesday night classes a month will be available from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Registration:

Macon County Schools offers a wide range of technology workshops throughout the year. These technology offerings are available to any Macon School employee. All technology courses listed are approved for technology credits to be applied toward certificate renewal. To register for a course, complete and submit the online registration form. Print the registration form that follows the registration process as a reminder of courses you have signed up for. It is not necessary to submit a renewal credit form for these classes. As with any training activity, if a substitute or reimbursement is required, prior approval using the SEA System will be necessary.

Continuing Education Credit:

Because the guidelines for staff development have changed, course offerings have been modified to compensate. In most cases the courses will extend over a designated period of time, requiring homework or more than one session, as a follow up to the activity. Continuing education units of credit are noted for each course. Upon completion of all assignments for the course, a credit renewal form will be provided. Credit for technology workshops will be dependent on performance based outcomes and all workshops will have clearly defined exit requirements.
