Macon Early College opened its doors in August, 2006. Originally housed in the Old Cartoogechaye School, with 50 students, the school moved to the new Southwestern Community College campus in July 2007.  In March 2009, we moved into our beautiful new building which houses offices and classrooms for the high school component.  The 2009-2010 school year began with 138 students, a new principal, 3 new teachers, and 3 part time teachers.

Macon Early College is a public high school which is fully integrated into the Southwestern Community College system. This partnership is an ongoing collaborative team of college and high school personnel, shared resources and calendars which has aided in the development of a nurturing environment aimed at college-readiness, the world of work and beyond.
