WELCOME ALL KOMODO DRAGONS!
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF: My name is Miss Tia and this is my first year working for Summer Edventure Camp and I am so excited to meet all of my little dragons! I am a junior at Western Carolina University majoring in Elementary Education with a concentration in natural science and working toward a reading licensure. I have previously been a member of Western's Dance Team...GO CATS! I now spend most of my time concentrating on school work. My favorite season is SUMMER and I cannot wait to spend it with my campers!
A LITTLE ABOUT CAMP: Our theme for camp is "Around the World in Seven Weeks." This year we are the Komodo Dragons and our continent is Asia! Did you know that Komodo Dragons can reach up to 335 pounds and 10 feet long? WOW! We are the largest living lizards in the world! We will continue to learn fun, interesting facts throughout camp about our animal and continent.
We have a lot of fun activities planned for you this summer, such as:
- Visiting the Cabbage Patch nursery
- Trips to the town pool
- Swimming at the lake
- Safety Day with local law enforcement and fire department
- Cherokee Island Park
- Wesley's Playground
- Rec. Park Playground and Picnic
- Water Day
- Standing Indian
- Arts and Crafts
- Tuesday Field Trips
- ...and many other exciting trips, games, and activities!
SUMMER EDVENTURE CAMP IS GOING GREEN! During camp we will be recycling and conserving resources.
I am so excited to meet all of you and start this amazing summer we will share together. The other counselors that will be working with this group are Lauren Bowen and Kelli Hughes. Us three counselors will be working together to ensure that all the dragons have a fun and safe summer! I will be keeping this site updated with photos from camp, notifications about what your child needs to bring, trips we will be taking, upcoming events for our theme weeks, schedule changes, and more so please stay tuned!
