Macon County Schools supports the continued infusion of multiple technologies into the system as a means of promoting both expansion of learning opportunities and management of data for students, staff, and community. It is our commitment to provide 21st century learning environments and to provide students with resources and collaborative opportunities to be globally competitive in today’s technology based society.
Macon County Schools Information Technology (IT) Department provides support and administration for 13 local area networks, over 2400 networked computers and over 5000 users. Macon County Schools continues to be in the forefront of educational technology; having one of the highest computer to student ratios in the state and more than 170 classrooms with interactive whiteboards and digital projectors. Through grants, we have provided almost all of our schools with a high speed fiber optic network; giving our students greater access to resources and distance learning opportunities.
